Greetings Homesteading Community

Times are changing and changing fast.  Some changes we have no control over, yet many we do by the choices we make.

When I decided to create the Canadian Homesteaders Conference 3 years ago, it was with the intention of helping my community see how it could come together, help one another, see all of the great resources we have in our own area and how we can thrive and succeed.  Even I was surprise once, we “the committee” started putting the event together and saw how many knowledgeable and resourceful people we actually have.  Whether that be in herbalism, nutrition, gardening, homesteaders or food preservation…WOW!

I was so grateful to see how, we as a community CAN come together, work together, unite and bond with one another.  What a great feeling that is!!

As I said in the beginning, times are changing.  One part of this year’s change for my husband Denis and I (who has been a great supporter of this project) is having to step down as role of president and give the reigns to Jennifer & Carter Seymour who will take on the project.  We will however stay on as committee members.  Thank you, Jennifer & Carter, for allowing this Conference to keep going

I wish to take this time to thank each and every member of the committee for their excellent dedication and their hard work to attain the same vision as mine.  Words cannot express how grateful & blessed I am for each and everyone of you!

Also thank you to each and everyone who participated whether that is as a vendor, exhibitor, teacher or attendee.  This event could not have happened without you all.

Going forward, let’s keep our lights shining bright.  Let’s rejoice in all the wonders that we have in our beautiful community and let’s stay united!

See you all at the next Canadian Homesteaders Conference! Saturday, May 3rd 2025 in Earlton, Ontario.

Blessings,

Sylvie

Our Story

“Message from our founder”

To my beautiful soul family,

I love to cook and I love to learn. When I had a bout of health issues several years back, I knew I wanted to take my health in my own hands. I started to deep dive into our food systems as well as our pharmaceutical systems. Needless to say, I learned that I needed to make BIG changes. This is when my homesteading journey began. Planting a garden and raising our own chickens was only the beginning.

Learning about all the ways to be self-sufficient became a real passion of mine just as mind/body/spirit healing was too. What a beautiful journey and I am still learning and loving it!

Now it is time to share the knowledge I have gained and create a community – sufficiency where we can learn from each other and be with like-minded people and create a bigger family. So I asked a team of other homesteaders, who had the same vision as mine, to join me in creating this event that we named Canadian Homesteaders. Here you will learn life skills such as growing your own food and raising animals to name a few, all to make you more self-sufficient. Whether you are just curious about this lifestyle, a beginner or a seasoned homesteader who can help others on their journey, all are welcome…

Let’s get together and create the changes we want to see in this world and make it a better place for our children, our grandchildren, our great grandchildren and so on… I look forward to seeing you at the 2024 Canadian Homesteaders Life Skills Conference and Fair Saturday, May 4th 2024 in Earlton, Ontario.

Blessings to all,
